The innovative make up of the surface allows for intensive use without reducing the quality of the surface.

Whilst grass remains the preferred surface for soccer, rugby and Gaelic games, it can only sustain 300/350 hours of use per year (6/7 hours per week).

As such some grass pitches are sustaining usage up to 5 times their recommended use. A solution to this is the provision of quality synthetic surfaces.

In October 2009 FIFA selected ACT Global Sports as a Preferred Producer for Football Turf.In order to qualify as a FIFA Preferred Producer, ACT Global was evaluated by FIFA according to strict requirements. This included the level of quality responsibility from manufacturing, through installation and maintenance. FIFA also reviewed the civil engineering and project management expertise, promise for research and development efforts, and a commitment to promote the principles behind the FIFA Quality Concept for Football Turf.
